NBCC remains committed to delivering education that works and investing in programming that will drive economic and social well-being across New Brunswick. As part of this commitment, NBCC regularly reviews all programs to ensure they align with provincial labour market needs and student interests.
Following the January program review, several programs were placed on a watch list. Thanks to targeted recruitment efforts over the past several months, 37 of the 44 watch-listed programs will proceed as planned for Fall 2025. Despite these efforts, seven additional program cohorts will be suspended or cancelled for the 2025-2026 academic year due to low enrolment.
2025-26 Program Changes
Suspensions: Programs removed from the enrolment plan for the upcoming academic year. This is typically done in cases of low applicant interest or when programs require revision. Suspended programs may be added back to future enrolment plans.
Suspensions | Location |
---|---|
Administrative Professional: Executive | Saint John |
Advanced Electrical Applications | Saint John |
Metal Fabrication | Moncton |
Sustainable Agriculture | Fredericton |
Cancellations: Programs permanently removed from the enrolment plan. This typically happens where we have seen multiple years of low applicant interest, low employer demand, or where there is duplication of content and outcomes with other programs.
Suspensions | Location | Notes |
---|---|---|
Administrative Professional | Miramichi | Still available in Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, and online |
Administrative Professional: Health Services | Miramichi | Still available in Fredericton, Moncton, and Saint John |
Digital Marketing | Saint John | Still available in Moncton |
Students currently enrolled in these programs will not be impacted by these decisions and will continue to completion. NBCC’s Enrolment and Admissions teams are actively working with affected applicants to explore alternative options that will enable them to meet their educational aspirations.
Program Growth and Expansion
NBCC’s enrolment strategy continues to emphasize growth in high-demand sectors. Strong domestic application trends and ongoing efforts to reduce waitlists have enabled NBCC to expand seat availability in high-demand programs for Fall 2025 and Winter 2026.

These additions reflect NBCC’s continued responsiveness to labour market needs and its commitment to expanding access for learners across New Brunswick.
